Are my EPUB files uploaded to a server?
No. Merging happens entirely in your browser on your own device. You can load the page, go offline, and merge your books — it keeps working because there is no server involved at all.
What happens to the table of contents?
The merged file gets a brand-new table of contents that lists every book in order, each keeping its own chapters underneath. Every input book becomes a top-level part of the combined book.
How many EPUBs can I merge at once?
There is no fixed limit on the number of files. The practical ceiling is your device's memory, since everything is processed locally — a good rule of thumb is to keep the combined size under a few hundred MB.
Will the merged book still work on my e-reader?
Yes. The output is a standard EPUB with correct metadata, a navigation document, and all content preserved, so it opens in Calibre, Apple Books, Kindle (after send-to-Kindle conversion) and Kobo like any other EPUB.
Is anything lost when merging?
Chapter text, images and stylesheets are carried over from each book. Reading position and per-book highlights from your reader app don't transfer, because those live in the app, not in the file.
